1. Who we are
Aayojan is operated by Aayojan Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("Aayojan", "we", "our" or "us"), a company registered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. We operate aayojanapp.com and the Aayojan mobile application.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect personal information when you use our platform. It applies to all users — customers planning events and service providers listed on the platform. By using Aayojan, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account and profile data: Name, email address, mobile number and profile details you provide when creating an account.
Event and booking data: Event type, event date, estimated guest count, location, budget range and other details you share when requesting quotes or making bookings.
Business profile data (for vendors): Business name, category, services offered, service area, photographs, portfolio, pricing, availability and bank/payout details required for settlement.
Usage and interaction data: Pages visited, search queries, vendors viewed, shortlists created, quote requests sent, time and frequency of platform use, device type, browser type and IP address.
Payment information: Transaction reference numbers, payment status and amount. We do not store your card number, CVV or full banking credentials. All payment data is handled by Razorpay on PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.
Communications: Messages sent through the platform's chat system between customers and vendors, support tickets and any other correspondence with us.
Location data: City and region you select or that is detected from your browser when you use location-aware discovery features. We do not track precise GPS location without explicit consent.
3. How we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes:
Platform operation: To create and manage your account, enable discovery of vendors, deliver chat messages, process quote requests, manage bookings and process advance payments.
Personalisation: To show you vendors, categories and content relevant to your city, event type and past activity on the platform.
Communication: To send you booking confirmations, quote updates, vendor responses, support replies and platform notifications via email, SMS or in-app notification.
Safety and trust: To verify vendor identities, review business profiles before approval, detect and prevent fraud, investigate policy violations and enforce these terms.
Analytics and improvement: To understand how the platform is used, which categories and cities are most active, and how to improve the discovery and booking experience. This analysis uses aggregated or anonymised data where possible.
Legal compliance: To comply with applicable Indian laws including the Information Technology Act 2000, IT (Amendment) Act 2008, and the Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) Rules 2011, and to respond to lawful requests from regulatory authorities.
5. Payment processing and financial data
Payments on the Aayojan platform are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a Payment Aggregator licensed by the Reserve Bank of India. When you make a payment, you are interacting with Razorpay's payment interface which is governed by Razorpay's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Aayojan receives confirmation of successful or failed transactions along with a transaction reference number and the amount. We do not receive, store or process your card number, expiry date, CVV, or internet banking credentials.
Transaction records including booking amounts, payment status and refund status are stored securely in your account and are visible to you under your Bookings section. These records are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required under Indian accounting and tax law.
6. Third-party services and integrations
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each is governed by their own privacy policy:
Firebase (Google LLC): We use Firebase for authentication, real-time database, file storage and push notifications. Data is stored on Google's cloud infrastructure with access controls and encryption.
Razorpay: Payment processing. See Section 5 above.
Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics: We may use analytics tools to understand platform usage patterns. Analytics data is aggregated and does not individually identify users.
Cloud messaging and notification providers: For in-app and push notifications to your device.
Your use of the platform constitutes your acknowledgment that data may be processed by these third-party providers subject to their respective privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.
8. Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to handle any outstanding bookings, disputes or legal obligations.
Booking and payment records are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required by Indian tax and accounting regulations.
Chat history and quote records are retained for up to 2 years from the date of the enquiry, or longer if the booking is in a disputed state.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing hello@aayojanapp.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days subject to legal retention obligations. Note that we cannot delete data that is required to be retained by law or that is necessary to resolve outstanding disputes.
9. Your rights and account controls
Subject to applicable Indian law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access: You can view your account profile, booking history, quote history and chat records at any time by logging into your account.
Correction: You can update your name, email, phone number and event preferences in your account profile. If you need help correcting data you cannot access directly, email hello@aayojanapp.com.
Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and personal data as described in Section 8.
Withdrawal of consent: You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Note that transactional communications related to active bookings cannot be opted out of while a booking is in progress.
Data portability: You may request a copy of your personal data in a structured format by emailing hello@aayojanapp.com with the subject line "Data Export Request".
10. Security measures
Aayojan implements appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration or disclosure. These include:
Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers.
Firebase Security Rules to ensure that users can only access data they are authorized to access.
Role-based access controls within the platform so that only authorized Aayojan team members can access sensitive vendor and customer data.
Regular security reviews and monitoring for suspicious activity.
No system can guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights and interests, we will notify you and the relevant regulatory authorities as required by applicable law within the prescribed timeframe.
11. Children and minors
Aayojan is intended for users aged 18 years and above who are legally capable of entering into service agreements. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your minor child has provided personal information on our platform, please contact us immediately at hello@aayojanapp.com and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
12. Compliance with Indian law
Aayojan's data handling practices are designed to comply with the Information Technology Act 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules 2011, and other applicable Indian data protection regulations.
We designate a Grievance Officer as required under the IT Act. For any grievance regarding data handling, contact:

Aayojan may disclose personal data when required to do so by law, court order, government authority or in connection with any legal proceeding.
13. Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our platform features, legal obligations or business practices change. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email or by a prominent notice on the platform at least 15 days before they take effect.
The effective date of the current version is shown at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
